Rhino at Tsavo

An original work of art painted in oil on stretched canvas. This piece is framed (see framed dimensions) and ready to hang.
On one of my trips to Africa I was privileged to see these impressive animals in the Tsavo National Park in Kenya.
Why do I paint wildlife? In 1940, there were an estimated 20,000 rhinos in Tsavo National Park, but by 1989, poaching decimated the rhinos and less than 20 individuals remained. I have a growing concern for the protection of endangered species and their exclusive habitats and I'm hopeful my paintings, in a small way, will bring attention to this delicate balance.
