Eye of the Tiger
The Tiger is painted with museum quality/fade resistant Prismacolor colored pencil on heavy 184 pound Strathmore paper. The painting measures 12″L x 7″H, is double matted, backed with acid free foam core, protective UV glass and custom framed with overall size 17.5″x12″. The eyes seem to follow you around the room.
Often times, I’m asked about the progression a painting might take in its production so I have added a time capsule on how this tiger emerged onto the paper. My style is to add the eyes first thing, because it lets me get to know the subject before completing the rest of his face. Now I can continue to finish the piece. The entire process takes many hours of adding individual hairs in varying layers of color to produce the final image. This frame was the perfect match for the finished product.
